Linda and Tim's Winter Wedding Bliss

On a sunny day in February we were invited to photograph Linda and Tim's wedding. Linda was so cute as she nervously got ready for her big day. All the girls gossiped and enjoyed a morning brunch as the clock ticked closer to the "I do's" After Linda was all glammed up, we ventured out in the freezing weather to get a few rockin' shots of her. I have to giggle as Linda's dad was a little concerned about us taking shots next to the old shed in the pool area... he said he would have cleaned up a little out there. But no worries, the photos were awesome! And Linda was cozy in her Uggs. The ceremony and reception took place at Lakeview Pavillion (a venue after my own heart). Wintery whites draped through out and golden dimmed chandliers set the mood. There wasn't a dry eye as Linda and Tim exchanged very personal vows. Even little Shane had his part in the wedding. (Linda's cutie son) The reception was unlike any I have seen before.... Linda and Tim's guests know how to have a good time! Rockin out to the 80's was my favorite part, I think we got the best pics then. And Dan, Tim's best man sang a little tribute at the close of the night which he finished off by dancing around Tim in a chair... classic! And a special shout out to the dancing queen of the night, Michelle Birollini of Trends and Traditions, you did a fabulous job! If I had to some up Linda and Tim's wedding, I would say, glamorously fun!

Yellow,Yellow Kiss A Fellow

Yellow is one of the top wedding trends for summer 2009. Ha! Who knew my mom was way ahead of her time with her yellow and white themed wedding in 76'. Kerry and Lance Get Married! Onset, MA.

So, this past fall we got to shoot such an amazing couple! Kerry and Lance are super sweet. We started off shooting Kerry getting ready at her mother's farm house, horses and all! By the way, I loved the horses and they loved me.... when I approached the fence they both trotted right up to me... so cool. Anyways I digressed. We had a great time shooting the family and the dogs and laughing along with the gang. Kerry and Lance wedded at a historical landmark in Rochester, MA. called The Old East Rochester Church. It was small but stunning and on a cold fall night, it was warm and inviting. I loved it! We finished off the night in Onset, where we got some one on one time with the new couple and got some great shots. But I think the highlight of the night was the speeches. Kerry's sister speech was incredible, I don't think there was a single dry eye. What a great family and a great couple! We wish you all the best!!!

Jennifer and Mark's Wedding at the Boston Harborside

On a sunny fall day Jennifer and Mark traveled up from Texas to get married during the beautiful peak foliage that New England has to offer. James and I packed up for a fun day of shooting at the Boston Hyatt Harborside, it just happened to be the same day as the Regatta on the Charles, one of the biggest events in Cambridge, Ma. Jennifer was so upbeat listening to a great ipod shuffle of Korn, Beyonce, and a little country. Mark and Jenifer opted for a first look, we were psyched about that! She walked done a grand staircase as Mark waited at the bottom with her bouquet. This is the point in time when all the bridesmaids ruined their makeup with all the tears. Jennifer and Mark's Teacup Chihuahua made an appearance at the ceremony with a top hat and all. Then on to the reception over looking the Boston Harbor. The guests, and us had way too much fun in the photobooth. And the cake.... wow! Probably "the" best cake I have had yet. Pumpkin cake. YUM! Jen and Mark Congrats!!! Your wedding rocked!

The First Dance We Should Have Had....

James and I thought we were orignal with our first dance, dancing to something a little up beat and not so mushy, but oh wow I wish we had done this! Happy viewing ;)

Amy and Sony's Wedding in Cambridge MA

On a beautiful fall day Amy and Sony got married at a breathtaking church in Cambridge. And the music was great, nothing is more fun than a ceremony full of live music. Sony put a lot of time and effort into planning a perfect ceremony. After the ceremony we all headed over to the Wyndham in Andover. We were entertained by the many family and friends of Amy and Sony's. There were heartfelt speeches and a few funny skits which meant some great shots of the bride and grooms reactions. If we had to describe Amy and Sony, we would have to say "sweet". Seriously could you get a nicer couple? Congrats Amy and Sony, we wish you a life of laughter!

Cambridge MA Wedding Photography

To See or Not to See, before the wedding.

I was doing a little Blog Reading and I can across this post by RELENTLESSBRIDE on Blogger Bride at getmarried.com.


We have had many Brides ask about meeting before the Ceremony and we love it for many reason but do understand tradition. But where do those tradition begins. While most of the Wedding traditions come from a very very long time ago, and we see that some might be out of style..

So here is the tradition about it being "Bad Luck" to see each other before the wedding:


"The tradition holds to the idea that in ancient times, often the first time the bride and groom saw one another was at the actual ceremony b/c many marriages were arranged. Thus, in fear that either the bride or groom would reject the other prior based on disliking the other's looks, they were kept from seeing one another until the actual ceremony. Also, the veil was used to hidden the bride's face until the actual ceremony was done and the legalities were sealed with a kiss at which point, it was too late to change your mind. Thus, they say it is bad luck to see each other before the actual ceremony. As one blogger puts it "So the tradition that it’s “bad luck” for a man to see his bride before the ceremony really started out as insurance for her dad (b/c he had arranged the marriage of his daughter with a stranger)"

Reasons why many people are going the "non-traditional" route and seeing each other pre-ceremony:

* The wow moment can still be there as when you walk down the aisle, except in
this private moment, the bride and groom can truly enjoy it with full
emotion and the privacy of holding on to that moment between the two.
* Photographs can be taken of immediate family, friends and bridal party.
This can help make the after ceremony photo session shorter, and give the
bride and groom a chance to enjoy the cocktail hour with their guests.
* Getting the photographer to focus on "the moment" that the bride and groom see
each other. The Bride and Groom can also pick the scenery in which these
pics will be taken... this can give this set of photos a more artistic
scenery while also maintaining the pictures from the actual ceremony.
* It can alleviate the "stress" of seeing one another making the moment more
enjoyable and less stressful during the ceremony.
* Enjoy the photo shoot without worrying about the guests or that you are missing
out on the cocktail hour
* You feel fresher. Make up, hair and etc are all fresher. And if its earlier in
the day, it could be cooler depending on which season you have your wedding in
* Technically, last minute details can be discussed - although this is not so
romantic, it can definitely help in the practicality aspect.

The part that appeals most to me is that the photographer can really capture the moment (and the immediate moments that lead to) the first moment we see one another. It really can be more romantic and dramatic this way, b/c the wow factor would still be there but there will would also be less distraction!"

Sandra and Greg's Wedding at Boston's Fenway Park! YEAH BABY!

This past weekend, James and I along with our buddy and fellow photographer, Doug Levy headed down to Yawkey Way to shoot a wicked awesome wedding at Fenway Park! Yes, every Red Sox fan's dream! Sandra and Greg love baseball and are major Red Sox fans, even if they live in Yankee territory. And nothing says "Fan" more than getting married on the third base concourse on a sunny afternoon. Both Sandra and Greg were relaxed and happy about their big day and wow they are so in love. We had so much fun, Doug played around with his fish eye lense to get some great landscape shots of the park, while James and I got down to business capturing all the emotions of the day. Tara from Tada was a big help making sure everything went smoothly and we thank her for making sure we got some cupcakes to eat ;) Yum! Sandra and Greg, you two were a super cute and sweet couple! Thanks for having us at your wedding!
